Bursting with fragrant aromas, exhilarating flavours and endless versatility, curries are the perfect way to warm up from the inside out this winter. With origins tracing back to Southern India, the word “curry” is derived from the Tamil word “Karli,” meaning “sauce with rice”.

Since its inception, the globalisation of the much-loved dish has seen its flavours transcending culinary borders. This comfort-food favourite has been adopted around the globe with Indonesia, Thailand and Japan all having their own variants of a curry.

With the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder, the aromatic essence of curry can add a kick of spice, making it perfect for beating the winter chill. The spices found in curry have proven medicinal benefits with turmeric assisting with inflammation and pain and chilli, ginger, lemongrass and garlic helping you fight the common cold.
